Training the next generation in X-ray science

Every year, the joint ESRF/ILL International Student Summer Programme brings together 20 undergraduates from the world over, to learn about X-ray and neutron science for their research. From 2-28 September 2018, the students were assigned tutors and experimental projects in relation with their scientific studies. The course includes a series of lectures combined with hands-on experiments on the beamlines. A lively social programme helps students to integrate and foster networking, as well as discovering the region.
