In case images collected are blank, you get the error "Data collection failed!;  Detector not ready"  (Or indeed the detector status is listed as "BUSY"), no images are collected at all or collections stall at the last images, it might be necessary to reset the detector.

NOTE: this happens frequently if you "STOP" a data collection from within MXCuBE

How to fix these issues:

  • Dectector software reset followed by MXCube restart
  1. Connect to the id232control computer via remote.esrf.fr OR one of the slurm machines via remote.esrf.fr
  2. Start a firefox browser
  3. In a firefox browser, go to lid232eiger2dcu.esrf.fr
    1. Click "Initialize detector" at right, confirm
    2. Wait for the detector to come back up and be in "Idle" state. This can take a little while.
  4. In a firefox browser, go to lid232eiger2lima.esrf.fr
    1. Click the "restart" action
