Towards SAXS-WAXS ovelapping signals

  • Share

The WOS (Wide Opening for SAXS) detector is currently under upgrade. The housing was redesigned in order to make the WOS lighter and compact in the x-ray direction (160 mm instead of 400 mm). This shortens the distance between the SAXS and WAXS detectors without shadowing effects. In addition, the front opening of the WOS and the inner tube were modified in order to minimize the gap in Q space for SWAXS experiments. It will even be possible to overlap SAXS and WAXS signals. A new translation stage was also designed specifically for the new WOS and will be available mid February.
The detector is expected to be delivered at the end of January and will be commissioned during the first week of February 2021.
