X-rays for space

14-05-2019

The German aeronautical company OHB has come to the ESRF and the ILL to study the ultra-sterile, air-tight blisters designed for both reference samples and return samples, as well as other materials and processes in space missions. At the ESRF they used X-ray tomography to visualise defects in electronics, manufacturing and soldering in these materials.
