Four Early-Career Travel Grants will be available for the ESRF User Meeting 2027. Each selected recipient will receive financial support of up to €500 towards the costs of attending the meeting (travel and accommodation). The grants are open to PhD students and post-doctoral researchers. Recipients will be selected by members of the ESRF User Organisation.

How to apply

When registration for the User Meeting opens in November 2026, participants registering in the PhD Student/Post-Doc category will have the option to apply for an Early-Career Travel Grant by selecting the “Early-Career Travel Grant” box in the registration form.

Applicants will be asked

• to provide a CV together with a one-page motivation letter describing how financial support and attendance at the ESRF User Meeting would contribute to their research projects and activities.
• to present a poster at the poster session and introduce it (for 2 min) during the poster clip session (these options are available for selection in the registration form).

The deadline to apply for an Early-Career Travel Grant is 28 November 2026.

Successful applicants will be notified in mid-December 2026.
