How to access the EPN Campus

Site entrance
Please do not forget to bring an ID card (e.g. valid passport, valid national identity card). A valid driver's license is also accepted. A site entrance badge will be given to you at the entrance.

Guesthouse
For participants who are accommodated at the guesthouse on the EPN campus, please check the opening hours on the guesthouse web page to collect your room key.  Outside the opening hours, room keys can be collected at the site entrance.

Registration and welcome coffee will start from 08:30 on Wednesday, 14 December in the ESRF LOB cafeteria. You should wear both badges (site entrance and workshop) for the duration of the workshop.

Catering
* Lunches can be taken at the EPN campus restaurant (ground floor at the back of the room).
* Please note that the workshop badge is mandatory to eat at the EPN campus restaurant. You should present it at the till as a means of payment.
* The workshop dinner will take place on Wednesday, 14 December at 19:30 at 'Bouillon A' restaurant, 5 Place Nelson Mandela, Grenoble.

The European Photon and Neutron (EPN) Science Campus is located in Grenoble in South East France, about 3 hours by high-speed train from Paris, 2 hours by bus from Geneva, and 1 hour by high-speed train from Lyon.

How to reach Grenoble and the EPN site

Tram line "B" :

- serves Grenoble town center, including the bus and railway station. It allows easy access (even at night) from Grenoble town center to the ESRF.

- its terminus - 'Oxford' - is situated just 350 metres from the site entrance.

Access to EPN Campus site (map)

The site is a restricted area and you will be asked to report in at the site entrance on arrival. You will need to produce proof of identification (ONLY passport or ID card) to enter.

You will be given two badges:
* At the site entrance: a visitor badge which is your site access badge. You will be asked to present it at the site entrance each time you wish to enter on site during the period of the event.
* At the registration desk: a workshop badge to access the workshop and the on site restaurant.

Please wear these badges on site over the whole period of the event.

Walking - SIPAVAG is an organisation which manages signposted footpaths in the Grenoble area. You can catch a bus or tram to the start of all the marked paths.

Shops and services

Shops, banks and postal services can be found in central Grenoble. Please note that banks are closed on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and Mondays. You will find a list of boutiques and shops in and around Grenoble on the Tourist Office web site.
