The information given below will help you in organising your visit and stay in Grenoble during the workshop.


Travel and site access information


The European Photon and Neutron (EPN) Science Campus is located in Grenoble in South East France, about 3 hours by high-speed train from Paris, 2 hours by bus from Geneva, and 1 hour by high-speed train from Lyon.

Tram line "B" :

- serves downtown Grenoble, including the bus and railway station. It allows easy access (even at night) from downtown Grenoble to the ESRF.

- its terminus - 'Grenoble Presqu'île' - is situated just 350 metres from the site entrance.

Site Access and Badges

Access to EPN Campus site (map)

The site is a restricted area and you will be asked to report in at the site entrance on arrival. You will need to produce proof of identification (e.g. passport, ID card but NO driving licence) to enter.

You will be given two badges at the site entrance:
* A visitor badge which is your site access badge. You will be asked to present it at the site entrance each time you wish to enter on site during the period of the event. This badge will also allow you to access the Cryo-EM facility for the practicals.
* A workshop badge to access the on site restaurant.

Please wear theses badges on site over the whole period of the event.


Accommodation & catering information


We will organise accommodation at the guesthouse on site for the Cryo-EM participants from Monday 4th to Friday 8th (4 nights maximum), provided that the request for accommodation arrangement is made through the registration form.
The accommodation expenses will be taken in charge by the organisers.

Please note that for security reasons, the guesthouse is not available for accompanying persons.

Opening hours of the guesthouse reception:
* on Monday 4th November: from 14:00 to 20:00
* from Tuesday 5th to Friday 8th November: from 7:00 to 12:00 & 17:00 to 20:00

If you arrive outside the opening hours you will have to ask for your room key at the site entrance.


All the meals starting Monday 4th (dinner) till Thursday 7th (lunch) will be held on site at the EPN campus restaurant.

Don't forget to wear your workshop badge to access the restaurant!

A cocktail party will be organised on Wednesday 6th November at 5.30pm on the ESRF mezzanine.
