How center the beam and check its position with the YAG Scintillator

  • Automatically:
    • Go to Beamline Actions in MxCuBE
    • Select "Center Beam"
  • Manually:
    • Go to the beam location phase in "Phase Control" at the left of MxCuBE
    • Open the safety shutter
    • Open the fast shutter (NB you must wait for the phase change to complete before opening the shutter)
    • It is generally advisable to go to high zoom (e.g. 7) and reduce the transmission to a few percent

Important note: The focus of the scintillator can drift, and if this has happened, beam centering can be affected
