Aim of the Workshop

The workshop will deal with recent experimental developments aimed at probing in real-time structural changes in materials, chemical systems and biological systems, using the following techniques:

* Ultrafast X-ray diffraction and scattering
* Ultrafast X-ray absorption and emission spectroscopy
* Time-resolved SAXS in complex systems on the millisecond time scale
* Time-resolved Material Science on the millisecond time scale
* Time-resolved Imaging

The organisers will invite 20 speakers who will be asked to present their recent work with emphasis on future developments of beamlines at the ESRF within the Upgrade Program and the complementarity between synchrotrons and XFELS. The workshop is open to all interested parties upon registration, but the number of participants will be limited to approximately 80. The workshop will include a poster session. Finally a limited number of bursaries for students will be available upon request.
