This User-Dedicated Microsymposium (UDM) will focus on the growing role of synchrotron radiation in unravelling the intricate architecture and function of the brain. Cutting-edge synchrotron-based methods — from multimodal X-ray imaging and spectroscopy to structural biology including cryo-electron microscopy — are providing new ways to investigate neuronal organisation, dynamics, and disease.

The UDM will bring together researchers in neuroscience, physics, chemistry, and biomedical fields to share recent progress and discuss how synchrotron methods can help address key questions in brain research across different spatial and temporal scales.

The program will include invited talks alongside presentations selected from submitted abstracts, offering a unique platform for interdisciplinary exchange and for discussion of future directions of synchrotron-based neuroscience. Coffee breaks will be held together with poster sessions to further stimulate interaction and foster exchange among attendees.
