The User Organisation invites nominations for the 2017 Young Scientist Award. The 22nd edition of this traditional prize will be awarded during the User Meeting on 6 - 8 February 2017 and will carry the value of 2000 Euro.

The nominee can be of any nationality, with 2-7 years of experience since completion of PhD, and must be younger than 37 years old on 01.01.2017. Furthermore, the relevant research must have been carried out at the ESRF. The selected candidate will be requested to give a talk at the plenary session of the User Meeting on Tuesday, February 7th.

NOMINATIONS should include:

  1. a short letter of recommendation explaining why the nominee merits the prize,
  2. a brief curriculum vitae of the nominee,
  3. a complete list of publications. Relevant publications, which form the basis for the nomination, should be indicated on the list,
  4. academic referees who can be contacted for further reference if necessary.

Deadline

The DEADLINE to send nominations is
SUNDAY 13 NOVEMBER 2016

Nominees over the age-limit, or nominations received after the deadline will NOT be accepted. The nominations will be judged by an international committee of prominent synchrotron radiation scientists. The list of nominees is confidential and only the award-winner will be notified by the end of January 2017 in order to prepare his/her talk for the User Meeting.
