X-Ray and Neutron Science - International Student Summer Programme 2023

Scope:

The ESRF/ILL International Student Summer Programme on X-Ray and Neutron Science is aimed at undergraduate students. It will consist in a 4-week experimental project embedded in a research group of ESRF or ILL, together with a series of introductory lectures on the principles and applications of X-ray and neutron science (magnetism, materials science, soft matter, structural biology, imaging, etc.).

3 - 29 September 2023

Location:

The Summer Programme will take place at the European Photon & Neutron Science Campus (EPN), hosting the ESRF and ILL, in Grenoble, France.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate students from a University of a Member Country (or Scientific Associate Country) of ESRF or ILL are eligible to the Summer Programme. The Summer Programme will be held in English; participants are expected to be fluent in written and spoken English. The number of participants is limited to approximately 20.

Financial support:

All selected participants will receive financial support and free accommodation in Grenoble.

Candidates to the Summer Programme should fill in the online application form, and provide (ONE SINGLE PDF file to be uploaded via the application form) with the following items in this order:

motivation letter
complete CV including the records of all university marks and exams
certificate of English language fluency (this may be a TOEFL or an attestation signed by a university lecturer of English language); students who are English native speakers or enrolled in an English language university are exempt of this certificate.

The pdf file should not exceed 10MB.
