Science on Stage

12-03-2007

The ESRF together with the ILL is organising the European science teaching festival "Science on Stage 2". The festival will be held in Grenoble from Monday 2 to Friday 6 April and will give some 500 science teachers from secondary schools in around 30 European countries an opportunity to exchange innovative ideas about how to improve the attractiveness of science teaching and stimulate young people’s interest in science and technology.

This 2007 edition is the latest in a series of festivals which began in the year 2000 with "Physics on Stage", which was held at CERN in Geneva.

The festival will take place at the Europole Congress Centre in Grenoble. The week-long event will provide opportunities for discussions and workshops, as well as a science fair and on-stage presentations and performances on science-related topics.

Science on Stage 2 is organised by the EIROforum, and supported by funds from the European Commission. On Thursday 5 April Janez Potocnik, the European Commissioner for Science and Research, will be doing us the honour of attending.
