Crystallography

ID11 has a strong programme of experiments using the more "traditional" diffraction methods such as single crystal and powder diffraction techniques alongside time resolved studies.

Powder diffraction

Single crystal diffraction

The sample is inside a Diamond Anvil Cell (DAC), which is mounted onto the diffractometer.

The first step consists in centering the sample in the beam, and then the data collection is automated for a post-processing involving Crysalis.

Time resolved diffraction

Study of the evolution of the 1D diffraction patterns under external conditions (temperature, load ...)
