During the last six months we have been working hard and the beamline is rapidly achieving the foreseen performances.

I think the following information can be of interest for you:

1) We have successfully performed resonant experiment (maintaining the control on the reciprocal space position) at the Sm and Gd edges. This kind of experiments can be carried out for photons having an energy in the range of 6-24 keV.

2) The new insertion chamber and transfer mechanism for the UHV chamber mounted on the diffractometer in the second experimental hutch EH2 has been mounted and tested. We still have some problems but it should be completely debugged in the next month.

3) A new gas line is under construction for the catalysis experiments. It will be controllable by SPEC allowing the change of gases without entering in the experimental hutch.

If you have questions about the beamline please do not hesitate in contacting the beamline personnel at id03@esrf.fr.
