We are happy to announce that the Users' Organization invites nominations for the 2012 Young Scientist Award. This traditional prize will be awarded for the 17th time during the Users' Meeting on 6 - 9 February 2012 and will carry the value of 2 000 Euro.

The nominee, who will be required to give a talk at the plenary session on February 9, can be of any nationality but must not be older than 35 years (i.e. should be born on 01.01.1977 or later). Furthermore, the relevant research must have been carried out at the ESRF.

Nominations should be sent by e-mail to: ysanom@esrf.fr

The NOMINATIONS should include:

  1. a short letter of recommendation explaining why the nominee merits the prize;
  2. a brief curriculum vitae of the nominee;
  3. a complete list of publications and ESRF reports covering the work of the nominee. The relevant publications, which form the basis for the nomination, should be indicated on the list;
  4. Preprints/manuscripts, which are relevant for the nomination and are not otherwise available, should also be attached;
  5. person(s) who can be contacted for further reference if necessary.

The deadline to SEND NOMINATIONS is Thursday 15 December 2011

Nominees over the age-limit, or nominations received after the deadline will NOT be accepted. The nominations will be judged by an international committee of prominent synchrotron radiation scientists. The list of nominees is confidential and only the award-winner will be notified by the end of January 2012 in order to prepare his/her talk for the Users' Meeting.
