SUMMARY:The interplay between electronic\, magnetic\, and structural properties in FeO\, Xiang Li
UID:20260809T102333Z-uidGen@ovm-jahia-app1.esrf.fr
DESCRIPTION:The interplay between electronic\, magnetic\, and structural properties in FeO Xiang Li ESRF-The European Synchrotron (ESRF)\, France Abstract Iron monoxide (FexO) is a key component of the Earth’s lower mantle\, influencing deep Earth processes and redox cycles\, but it is also of high interest for modern high tech industry (Kupenko et al.\, 2019\; Ovsyannikov et al.\, 2016\; Dobson and Brodholt\, 2005\, Wei and Mao\, 1994). Despite its importance\, the interplay between its electronic\, magnetic\, and structural properties at high pressures and temperatures is poorly understood. I will present our investigation of FexO up to 94 GPa and 1200 K (Li et al.\, 2024) using Synchrotron Mössbauer Source spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction\, revealing how its properties evolve and their implications for the Earth’s deep interior.
