International Forum on Detectors for Photon Science

The International Forum on Detectors for Photon Science organises workshops for discussion and reflection on future detectors for synchrotron radiation applications for XFELs and storage rings. IFDEPS 2018 is the second edition of this event that was held in Les Trésoms Hotel in Annecy, France - just one hour from Geneva, from the 11th to 14th March 2018. More details about the motivation and purpose of IFDEPS can be found in the forum general information page.

The highlight topic of IFDEPS 2018 was “Energy dispersive X-ray detection” and was covered in several sessions focused on areas such as high count rate systems, detectors with position sensitivity or how to push the energy resolution. Other topics included in the programme were a facility update on ongoing detector development activities, presentations of recent detector experiences in new photon sources and strategies to produce and deal with high throughput data streams. More information including the list of confirmed speakers can be found in the workshop programme page.

If you need or want additional information or details about any aspect of the workshop or IFDEPS, please write to ifdeps@esrf.fr.
