High-Z pixel sensors (first part of the Seminar)
Evaluation and improvement of high-Z pixel sensors is one of the Detector Unit's key missions in the frame of the Detector Development Programme. High-Z pixel sensors are intended to achieve high detection efficiencies up to 70 keV and more, whereas efficiency of standard silicon sensors rapidly vanishes above 20 keV. This talk will focus on recent investigations carried out on GaAs:Cr sensors as well as on the ongoing development of CdZnTe sensors.
